Congratulations to Windmill Dental Care Nurse Lisa

Congratulations to Windmill Dental Care nurse Lisa for recently completing her intensive Childsmile training course. She now joins Denise in providing Childsmile within our practice. Childsmile is a national programme designed to improve the oral health of children in Scotland and reduce inequalities both in dental health and access to dental services.

Since 2011, Childsmile have been delivered in all Health Board areas throughout Scotland.

Scottish Minister for Public Health and Sport, Shona Robison says:

"As a result of our efforts, dental health in Scotland is improving, particularly in deprived communities. In the Primary 7 age group dental health has never been better and on a Scotland level the target of 60 percent of this age group having no obvious decay has been met. This is a fantastic success story."

At its heart we are a family practice and firmly believe Preventative care is the key to a healthy mouth and we encourage parents to bring their children from as an early an age as possible. Lessons learned early will serve you for life.
