Frequently asked questions

What will happen on my first visit?

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation which includes listening to your needs, explaining how we can help you, advising of your treatment options and costs. During your oral health assessment we will conduct a thorough examination of your mouth, jaw and neck and carry out oral cancer screening as standard procedure. It may be advisable to have X Rays of your teeth to allow a full assessment. When you have decided how you wish to proceed, a second appointment will be made to provide treatment on another day. Occasionally, it may be possible to commence treatment on your first visit.  This will be in situations where you are in pain or have a cosmetic problem that requires immediate treatment.

Is there anything I need to bring with me ?

Before attending it may be useful for you to consider if there are any aspects of your smile or the health of your teeth or gums that you would like to discuss with our highly experienced team. You will be asked to fill out a simple oral health assessment form and medical history form on arrival.  If you are on any medications please bring a list of the names or a prescription. Patients who have recently attended a different dental practice are asked to bring a copy of any up to date X-Rays if available.  A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 16 at the initial consultation visit.

Will I have to pay for my treatment?

Many people will automatically qualify for free NHS dental treatment - if you fall into one of these categories we ask you to please bring proof of exemption.  We ask our patients for payment at the time service is rendered.  For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard and Maestro.   A charge may be applied for late payments.  If you have any questions regarding payments please contact us at 01698 262698.

Is there a cancellation charge if I miss my appointment?

If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know. For all appointments we ask for 48 hours' working days notice for cancellations. Charges at a rate of £1/minute missed may apply if you fail to inform us within this time period.
